Nothing can be done in small measure with this film. And so the makers of The Lord of the Rings Region will bestow upon us first a double-disc DVD on 6th August, followed by a second release of an even mightier four-disc extended-cut edition on 12 November.
In the earlier release, the film comes on one disc supplemented with the extras listed above on the second disc.
The 12 November release comprises of an extra 30 minutes footage in an extended edit, spread across two discs, while the third and fourth discs will boast a gargantuan six hours of extras.
