Artificial eye's release of the latest from Francois Ozon is a bang-up job from them. The transfer of the film is anamorphic and in original aspect ratio. There are no blemishes or hairs and the colour balance is vibrant. The darker sequences at night look great and there seems to be little noise in the transfer as a whole.
It is very sharp and on large screens will look as good as on smaller ones.
The audio is an excellent French 5.1 which has no background noise or distortion. The spatial depth is good and dialogue is crisp and clear whether it be shouting or whispers.
The English subtitles are excellent and removable.
The extras include an interview with Ozon talking about this being a personal film inspired from his own experiences. The deleted scenes are plentiful and evidence that Ozon's film is well edited and lean. There are filmographies for the main cast and director and a theatrical trailer. This is a fine package with well designed clear menus.
Overall Artificial eye have done an excellent job on a good film. Ozon fans will find this irresistible and French film fans will want to consider a dip.
