He's France's Bad Boy, Doncha Noe?

Hello Chaps!
Only me! Well, the day was a bit of a wash out to be quite honest. Only one press conference of interest and that was Irreversible with French film director, Gaspar Noe. A very controversial bloke really. He said his aim was to make the most violent films ever - charming! And let's face it, with past works including the intense short film Carne and disturbing Seul Contre Tous, he's going about it the right way!
Greater excitement however came in the form of two major Hollywood heavyweights being in town. Yes, Susan Sarandon and beau Tim Robbins were parading themselves outside the Sheraton late afternoon for photographers. Unfortunately, they are not here for the Film Festival, but are performing in a play for three days only. Needless to say, it's completely sold out. Our roving photographer amazingly caught them, as it was a bit of a surprise photocall, that, can you believe it, even I didn't know about!
In the evening the Orange / Film Four short film awards took place at the National Gallery. I didn't attend, as I had to be fresh as a daisy for Saturday's excitements, but my sources tell me that it was a tad boring. No, instead I took a rickshaw for a quick-and-early drink down at Indigo Yard again with my good friend and short film editor, Sally-Anne. I have to say that it was as mind-numbingly dull as the night before.
What's going on - it is supposed to be the official Film Festival bar!
Not to worry, The Guru premieres tomorrow, so it promises to be a more eventful day. I'll fill you in on all the juice later.
