Archive clips - Mike Figgis on Liebestraum and Isle of Iona

By Robert Alstead - Posted on 11 July 2006

Mike Figgis talks about the preview of Liebestraum and a short clip shot on the small Scottish isle of Iona Both of these clips are many years old and were only recently digitised to help illustrate my review of ADS Tech's Pyro Link, an analogue video to DV convertor.

The Mike Figgis clip, is from the Edinburgh International Film Festival 1994. The director is talking about the audience preview in New York of his film Liebestraum (German for "Love Dream"), which turned out to be the Preview From Hell.

The other clip is from the Scottish isle of Iona, and features sheep and an abbey.

Both clips were shot on Hi-8 video and have been compressed for the web, so bear this in mind if scrutinising for image quality.
