A modern and musical take on the old forbidden love fable, Chungyang is the daughter a courtesan whilst whilst the man she falls for and secretly marries is the Governor's son. They must keep their relationship secret until he has passed his state exam and proved himself. The story is told in the Pansori operatic style, with a soloist accompanied by a drummer telling the tale. Continues the musical and visually opulent themes of this year's festival.
