New Work 1 rating /5 New Work 1

  Running time 70 minutes

THE first of two showcases of the best pop promos from the last 12 months (spot how many look familiar from airings on Jo Whiley's uber trendy late night show). These include work from directors who could very well go on to be the feature directors of the future - for instance last year Spike Jonze's work was featured prior to his role in Three Kings and his highly original and widely acclaimed directing debut Being John Malkovich. He features again with his video What's Up Fat Lip, also included are the videos for Ian Brown's Golden Gaze, directed by Dom (Trigger Happy TV) Joly and the Richard Ashcroft Song for the Lovers video (strangely additive viewing of not very much happening stylishly) directed by Jon Glazers. The Hammer & Tongs film for Bently Rhythm Ace's Theme From Gutbuster will also show.
