Agent Cody Banks (Frankie Muniz) goes to a CIA training camp, which is disguised as a summer camp, and has to save the world, which is a bit simplistic.
The story doesn't have enough twists and turns and you always know what is going to happen next. It's also very soppy in parts, like the ending when Cody kisses Emily (Hannah Spearritt), the blonde British intelligence agent.
After a good start, I was a bit disappointed with the rest of the film. It just doesn't keep up with the fast paced style set at the beginning. Later on, though, there are some funny bits, like when Cody finds Derek (Anthony Anderson), his accident-prone minder, sleeping with a blanky.
The characters are well acted, but they don't really behave like normal people. They are quite funny, especially Derek. He's really funny.
The special effects are good, especially the mint explosives, and all the other gadgets - his pen that turns into a grappling hook, for example.
I think most kids will like this film, although the younger ones won't understand it very well. It may have a simple plot, but it's still too complicated for a child.
