I thought that The Cat In The Hat would be quite a boring movie, but that was judging by the trailer. Really, it is a very funny movie.

The plot is just as it was in the books - the Cat comes and tries to clean things up, but in doing so makes more of a mess, although in the end manages to get things cleaned up. It's quite a simple plot, but you can put a lot of jokes in it, which is what makes it so good.

The Cat is played by Mike Myers, who does the job really well; he does the voice, the actions and everything perfectly. The kids are very odd, one is a control freak and the other a rule breaker - the Cat find this out using a phunomiter.

The costumes are really good, especially the Cat's. It looks as if each individual hair has been put in separately.

The special effects are high quality, particularly when the house changes from the Cat's world to this world. The Gloop is also really well done, just the way it moves around while changing shape.

I think that anyone would like this movie, adults (there were lots when I went) and kids (they were laughing so much I could hardly hear).
