There are two possible reasons you would want to see this film: either you're a die-hard fan of Jennifer Aniston (of "Friends" fame) or you're in the mood for a romantic comedy and you've seen all the other possibilities.

Jennifer Aniston stars as the talented but frustrated Kate who is working in an ad agency that won't promote their footloose employee until they learn that she's engaged. Except that she's not.

Jay Mohr plays the unsuspecting, kind-hearted Nick who's pulled into Kate's scheme as her concocted fiance. They hardly know each other, but that doesn't stop Nick from falling hard for the girl with a penchant for mini-dresses and Nike baseball caps.

To complete the love triangle, there is the office stud Sam (played slickly by Kevin Bacon), whom Kate lusts after from a distance. He hits on her only after he learns she's safely engaged.

Of course, the charade can't carry on forever: just long enough for the formerly endearing Kate to discredit herself enough to make the very predictable redemption sequence at the end mildly believable. Kate tries to be a "bad girl," for the office and for Sam, but in the end her "good girl" self just can't be kept down, which is good news for Nick.

The problem is, there just isn't that much chemistry between Kate and Nick, and frankly I don't blame her. Jay Mohr should take a lesson or two from Kevin Bacon on how to liven up a character.

Someone who doesn't need livening up is Olympia Dukakis, whose feisty turn as Kate's mom adds some texture to a somewhat bland film.

"Picture Perfect" is a Jennifer Aniston vehicle that trades on a lot of cleavage and not much originality, but sometimes we can't help ourselves from buying it... just don't say I didn't warn you.
