EXCELLENT thriller - and impressively John Boorman's debut feature - with Lee Marvin playing an old-fashioned gunman taking on an organisation shrouded in mystery and technology. Obviously, a product of its time, but still bristles with excitement after all these years, thanks to its Hitchcockesque psychological treatment and Marvin's on-screen dynamism.
