Writer/director Penny Woolcock makes her feature debut with this story of a would be writer Paul (Alec Newman), who meets wild guy Billy (Marc Warren) after their cars collide. He then gets to know a single mother Juliette (Sienna Guillory) and falls for her.
This is the story about a man with writer's block, who finds he needs to explore his darker side in order to know what he really wants from life. On the one hand is the dark psyche of Billy and on the other the carefree wildness of Juliette, with whom Paul has an intimate relationship.
Other films from the same genre are bound to spring to mind, such as Something Wild and Fight Club.
Of the performances, Warren is particularly good, finding an edgy deviance in Billy's expression that suggests he will move on to do better things in the future. The same could be said of Woolcock, who partially convinces with this story of attraction and edgy abstraction, but since it loses its way half way through, you hope she will be a little bit tighter next time around.
