A SMALL group of Mexican filmmakers decide to pay homage to the great second century movement of filmmaking. With initially charming narration, a pilgrimage of sorts is embarked upon. The film follows the small entourage of cast and crew as they journey to the far and brutal countryside of Scotland, cutting to brief stints in America, Mexico and Ireland.
The film is in the style of a documentary, incorporating many experimental film concepts, and techniques with super eight and 16mm footage, abstract editing, and some moderately interesting philosophical quotes and religious references.
The idea is an amusing and clever one to a point, but along the way the plot - what there is of it - goes AWOL. The Scottish landscape is not enough to fall back on - its grandeur is lost among the incessant chatter of the narrators.
