Kasi Lemmons (Eve's Bayou) tells the rewarding true story of the life of Radio DJ Ralph Waldo "Petey" Greene (played thrillingly by seasoned Hollywood pro Don Cheadle) who with the help of a producer Dewey (Ejiofor) became a crucial voice to the black community in Washington DC for over two decades.

Talk To Me sidles into the Washington DC 60's soul scene, to tell the true story of a charismatic and controversial ex-con DJ Ralph "Petey" Green who persuades quiet mannered radio station director Dewey Hughes to help him get a slot on big-time WOL-AM.

WOL-AM's rules are broken in a flash by the ebullient Green who doesn't mince words, but tapping into the vibes on the streets, Green becomes a valuable asset both to WOL-AM and to the wider community at large.

Kasi Lemmons (Eve's Bayou) has come up with an entertaining biopic, hot on period detail which sizzles thanks to the erudite performances of actors Don Cheadle and Chiwetel Ejiofor. They've never acted together before but you can tell from this, it won't be the last time. The film dips slightly late on, but is rewarding in its capture of a magnetic friendship that grows between the quiet helmer and his livewire DJ prodigy. Worth it.
