CHARLTON Heston plays a narcotics investigator who clashes with a local corrupt police chief (Orson Welles) over a murder case in a seedy Mexican border town.
There is much to recommend Orson Welles' classic: a fine cast, great score, and stylish cinematography - the opening crane shot has often been called the "greatest single shot" to be put onto film. The memorable Henry Mancini rock score is crisper then ever in this fortieth anniversary re-edit, which was supervised by Oscar-winning sound mixer Walter Murch. Look out too for Marlene Dietrich and Zsa Zsa Gabor who plays the owner of a strip joint, among a collection of unexpected cameos.
