Superhero Creator To Speak at Trade Forum
Stan Lee, superhero creator of Spiderman, The Incredible Hulk, X-Men, Daredevil
and The Fantastic Four is to give a special talk about his career in animation
at the Vancouver Film and Television Trade Forum on 24 September.
The event is the highlight of the annual four day Trade Forum, which also includes
seminars and panels on different aspects of movie-making, from script-writing
to organising international co-productions, pitching ideas to pleasing the critics.
In this year's New Filmmakers' Day, on 27 September, panels will take stock of
the impact of the digital revolution, offer advice on marketing for producers,
and consider ways of financing low-budget (C$750,000/£335,000) features.
In "Success Stories" David Gordon Green, writer/director of All The
Real Girls, and Gary Winick, director of Tadpole, will talk about how they found
distribution for their films without sacrificing their artistic vision.
