It was definitely a bad idea to make Scooby-Doo into a proper film. Some things work well as a movie, but Scooby-Doo doesn't.
The plot (like the first) is relatively simple; the gang has to save the world from evil monsters. So simple, in fact, that they thought they'd change it half way though to try and make it more interesting.
Scooby-Doo is, as you would expect, the main dog. He is also what makes it funny. The other characters are just as usual; Daphne (Sarah Michelle Gellar) being the pretty face, Velma (Linda Cardellini) acting clever, Fred (Freddie Prinze Jr) trying to act like a prince and Shaggy (Matthew Lillard) being scared of monsters.
Typical of a Scooby-Doo film, the costumes are not as good as they could be. They haven't put enough care into them.
I think most young kids will like it, but not that many other people, though there were a lot of adults when I went to see it.
